Amazon presents its second generation of the Fire TV Stick - alongside a more powerful hardware, Amazon is mainly focusing on the integration of the language assistant Alexa.

Externally the Fire TV Stick does not change – the housing of the compact HDMI stick remains the same. However, the new version will have much more power. A Mediatek Quadcore CPU, a gigabyte of memory, 8 GB of internal memory and ac-WLAN form the hardware basic framework. The remote control is a variant with voice input – so in the future the language assistant Alexa can be controlled. It answers everyday questions about the weather as well as adopts smart home control – for example by turning Philips Hue lamps on and off. The whole thing accompanies the Fire TV Stick with appropriate visualisations on the TV set.

With more than 5,000 channels, countless apps and now Alexa Skills, as well as access to thousands of films and series, the Fire TV offers a huge content. You can choose from Amazon’s video content, for example, from vendors such as Netflix, the media library of ARD and ZDF, 7TV, Clipfish, Zattoo and DAZN. And also live TV via Zattoo,, Magine TV, TV feature film live is additionally available.

The new FireTV Stick is now available for pre-ordering and will be delivered starting April 20. The price is 39.99 euros including the voice remote control – 10 euros cheaper than the predecessor.

Speaking of predecessors – all previous Fire TV devices and Fire TV Sticks with voice remote control are to receive a firmware update by the 20th of April, which also Alexa on the devices installed.
